Humans aren’t the only animals that dance to woo each other. Many other animals move together to express their affection and desire to mate, and birds are known to have some of the most elaborate courtship dances in all the animal kingdom.
To see the dance of the Hooded Grebe, however, is extremely rare. Mainly because the birds themselves are critically endangered.
These birds are found only in certain lakes in southern Argentina, and their total global population is estimated to be between 800-1000. Still, filmmakers Paula and Michael Webster managed to find two of these birds courting each other one day, and the resulting footage is absolutely stunning.
