Two boys from the southern Chinese province of Guangxi traveled 80km in the undercarriage of a bus in order to see their parents.
Simple. They missed them.
Their parents worked in the neighboring province of Guangdong. The two unnamed boys, ages eight and nine, skipped school and hid in the undercarriage in order to see them.
A bus station worker told the Chinese newspaper, Nanguo Zaobao that, “The children are really thin, so the undercarriage was a good hiding space.”
Their teacher reported them missing, and the boys were found when the vehicle stopped at a bus station.
Despite having traveled along steep terrain, they were unharmed. They were, however, muddy.
Though the boys didn’t talk at first, the workers eventually came to the conclusion that they traveled under the bus because they missed their parents.
A relative later came and picked the two boys up.
