As kids (and probably as adults, too!), many of us were at some point captivated by a cute bug making its way across the sidewalk. As it turns out, we humans aren’t the only ones who can take pleasure in the sight of a crawly critter going about its daily business.
Two silverback gorillas at the Higashiyama Zoo in Japan were filmed curiously observing a caterpillar as it inched by them. Shabani, the father, and Kiyomasa, his son, seemed to be mesmerized by the little bug, watching it as it crawled ever close to Shabani. But when it got a little too close, Dad asserted his authority and flicked it away, and the gorillas resumed their daily routine.
