Many firefighters are currently in California battling yet another devastating wildfire, putting their livelihoods and their very lives on the line to keep others safe. It’s no secret that being a firefighter is a draining job, especially when so much is on the line.
That’s where Kerith comes in.
Kerith is a golden retriever who, according to The Dodo, was originally going to be a guide dog. But instead, she ended up becoming a therapy dog, providing snuggles and kisses for anyone who wanted to give or receive them.
The past year has seen Kerith providing comfort to local firefighters in California. Unsurprisingly, she’s a huge hit.
As the recent wildfires have blazed across the state, Kerith has been making trips to base camps. This way, she can help the firefighters start their day off with some positivity before they head off to try to extinguish the fires.
Needless to say, she’s very good at her job.
Therapy dogs like Kerith can help people cope with stressful situations. Many trauma survivors and people who are grieving turn to therapy animals for comfort.
These firefighters are going through a lot, but Kerith does a good job of starting their days off right, no matter what their jobs may bring.
Our heroes deserve the best, and we certainly can’t think of a better way to put a smile on our faces than by petting all that soft golden fur!
California is lucky to have all these brave men and women fighting to keep them safe… and these firefighters are lucky to have a sweet dog like Kerith supporting their efforts.
