Halloween is next month already, and that means stores are soon to be filled with (fake) skeletons, pumpkins, witches, spider webs, and bats. But perhaps nothing reminds us so much of the spooky holiday as black cats. Once thought to be bad luck, black cats are now known as adorable, fluffy little pets, but their bright eyes against their dark fur can still give quite a fright if you see one when the lights are off.
But in the case of a spooky black cat named Gremlin, the fear will probably go away once you turn the light back on.
Gremlin, who lives with his humans in Melbourne, Australia, has a distinct look. This black cat has large, round, and bright orange eyes. He looks exactly like what you’d expect to find on a chilly Halloween night under the full moon.
Well. Kind of.
You see, Gremlin seems to have a very personal objection to keeping his tongue inside his mouth.
Who knew a harbinger of doom could be so darn cute?
Gremlin, of course, seems completely unaware that his habit might be considered “quirky.” He does what makes him happy, which includes sitting around like a goofball, too.
Gremlin may have been born with the aesthetic of a Halloween decoration, but he neither knows nor cares that he might have been considered scary in another time.
Sometimes, though, his “evil” side comes out.
This cute kitty is a perfect reminder of why black cats deserve more love!
We love Gremlin, and we hope you do, too!
