Even if you’ve never heard of a Rube Goldberg machine, you’ve probably seen one. These elaborate machines (named after cartoonist Rube Goldberg) are designed to perform a simple task in the most complicated way possible. They’re often fascinating, detail-oriented creations that rely on precise measurements and a good understanding of physics in order to function properly, and the excitement and anticipation we feel while watching them — What simple, easy task will this crazy machine accomplish?! — has made them a great source of entertainment over the years.
Now, a man named Jesus Zamarron has shared a highly relevant Rube Goldberg machine using one of the rarest tools of our time: toilet paper. The tongue-in-cheek machine uses a lot of TP as it progresses, unraveling, re-raveling, and rolling the paper all across the room until it finally serves its ultimate purpose. Can you guess what it might be?
