Kangaroos may be known for their jumping skills, but this kangaroo found himself stuck in a hole he couldn’t just hop out of.

A few weeks ago, a kangaroo (who was later named Brad “Pit”) was found in an old mine shaft. Trapped, scared, and in danger, he might have died down there if it hadn’t been for some brave rescuers who went out of their way to save him. Five Freedoms Animal Rescue shared the amazing clip of their friends at Edgar’s Mission putting their own safety at risk to haul this Australian critter out of the mine shaft, and it wasn’t long before the story was picked up by news outlets all over the world!

Don’t worry, this story has a happy ending. Brad Pit got to bond with his human rescuers while he recovered, enjoying a roof over his head and lots of fresh grass! Once he was healthy again, he was released back into the wild and is now happily hopping around in his natural habitat.
