Dogs walk to get around and pigeons fly (when they aren’t strutting around city streets, at least). But in the cases of Herman the pigeon and Lundy the chihuahua, neither animal is able to get around “normally.” Both animals have been taken in by the Mia Foundation, which helps animals with birth defects. And now, they’re the cutest unlikely pair you ever did see.
Lundy is a two-month-old chihuahua who was born with a spinal injury that gives him trouble walking.

Herman was brought to the organization with an injury that left him flightless. While the Foundation normally only accepts animals with birth defects, they sometimes make exceptions for injured wildlife.

The duo’s unique bond was created when the Foundation’s creator, Sue Rogers, placed both animals on fluffy beds next to each other.

The two quickly became inseparable.

Life may have provided challenges for these two, but thanks to the Mia Foundation, they’re able to live their lives in comfort and happiness together.

These two cuties have defied the odds, and now their friendship has, too!
