A North Carolina woman sold all of her possessions to care for a blind, brain damaged, abused raccoon.
Dorothy, from North Carolina, took the raccoon in after a golfer clubbed him and left him blind and brain damaged.
She later named the raccoon Trouper.
Trouper could not survive in the wild on his own, so Dorothy had to take care of him if she wanted him to survive.
Unfortunately, North Carolina law forbids caring for wild animals.
So what did Dorothy do?
She sold everything she had and moved to Florida. Now a resident of the Sunshine State, Dorothy feeds Trouper, bathes him, and files his nails.
Trouper is now an animal ambassador, helping Dorothy teach people everywhere to respect wildlife.
