A military dog had to be put down, but it got he hero’s respect it deserved.
Febe was a German shepherd in Iraq for ten years alongside Sergeant Tommy Hollis. He was brought back to the United States after he retired, but an aggressive form of cancer forced him to be mercifully put down.
He wasn’t simply buried out back, though. Instead, Febe got the funeral he deserved, complete with a motorcade and wooden coffin.
The dogs who serve in our military are no less heroes than their human counterparts. It’s good to see them getting the respect they’re entitled to.
