“I’m so grateful to be here and it wouldn’t be possible without the doctors and first responders” said Maddy Wilford, a Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School basketball player. “I was sitting on my couch today just thinking about all the letters and gifts that everyone has given, and just all the love that’s been passed around. I definitely wouldn’t be here without it.”
Wilford was shot multiple times when a shooter opened fire on her school. First responders thought she was dead, but they eventually helped her come to.
