Could you forgive someone who helped kill your child? I know I couldn’t.

But I am not Salahuddin Jitmoud’s father.

In April 2015, Salahuddin was murdered while delivering pizzas. Two years later, Trey Alexander Redford pled guilty for his role in the attack and was sentenced to 31 years in prison.

Jitmoud’s father was in the courtroom during the sentencing. Many were no doubt expecting him to glare angrily at the man who helped kill his son.

He didn’t though. Instead, on behalf of his Salahuddin, he forgave Trey, blaming the devil who misled the young man rather than Redford himself.

Then, in what can only be described as an amazing act of forgiveness, Jitmoud’s father shook Trey’s hand and hugged him. Even Redord’s attorney had a hard time holding back her tears.

This is a man who’s love for humanity knows no bounds.
