Dogs make great pets, but we sometimes forget that they are highly intelligent creatures who know how to communicate with humans when the need arises.
A dog in the Philippines named Blacky is the perfect example of this, and his compassion and smarts helped save the life of an abandoned baby boy who would’ve likely never been found if not for this brilliant dog.
The Freeman reports that a man named Junrell Fuentes Revilla was on his motorcycle in Magkagong just before noon on Christmas Eve when a dog started following him and trying to get his attention.
Junrell followed the dog to a dumpsite, where he found a tiny baby boy wrapped up in a towel. Junrell got a hold of the police, who discovered that the baby still had part of his umbilical cord attached and was very recently born.
The baby is now in safe hands, and the police are calling on the person who abandoned the baby to come forward and accept responsibility for their actions.
Thankfully, this dog isn’t a stray and does have a loving home! It was discovered that this life-saving pup is a 1.5-year-old dog named Blacky, who lives with Kuya Lyndon Olingay, his family, and nine other dogs. Kuya told the animal rescue “Hope for Strays” that “”No matter how hard life is, even though I’m poor, I feed all of my dogs and take care of them well.”
To thank Blacky and his humans for their kindness, Hope for Strays teamed up with the Pawssion Project to raise money to help make this family’s life a bit easier. They ended up being able to donate money, groceries, pet supplies and food, and more to thank the people and pets for making the world a better place.
We’re so happy that the baby, Blacky, and this entire family have gotten a happy ending!
