A nineteen-year-old college sophomore and mother-to-be finished her finals while was in labor!
Nayzia Thomas is studying psychology and neuroscience at Johnson County Community College in Missouri. During her sophomore year, she found out she was pregnant.
Did we mention she was working three jobs, too? Because she was working three jobs.
Still, despite her pregnancy and her jobs, Nayzia was determined to work her way through school.
“School is so important to me,” she said. “I didn’t want [the pregnancy] to be in the way. That’s what people expect.”
She didn’t even let birth get in the way. When her mother took a picture of Thomas taking her finals, Nayzia was two centimeters dilated and gave birth six hours later. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
Despite her work ethic, though, Nayzia Thomas said she will take a month off to care for her son.
