Halloween is just around the corner, and that means we should all be prepared for the inevitable sugar rush that comes with it! Whether it’s safe to trick-or-treat this year or you’re just having socially distant festivities with the kids at home, it doesn’t hurt to switch things up and add some unique Halloween treats in with the traditional candy that gets put into your treat bags.
One woman named Lindsey Oakley has taken Halloween goodies to the next level and created snacks that look completely inedible, but are actually yummy.
Before you look at Lindsey’s spooky snacks, we have to reassure you that she not only knows what she’s doing, but she’s very good at it. She runs her own business called Cake Genius and has become quite an expert at making tasty desserts look like… well, other things.
This time, though, Lindsey wasn’t crafting sweets for someone else’s occasion, but for her own birthday. So obviously, she had to go all-out, making sure the “gross-out” factor was perfect for the Halloween season.
Check out some of Lindsey’s work below:
Road kill patties, or red velvet Rice Krispy treats?
Cigarettes and ash, or pretzels dipped in white chocolate and sanding sugar?
Blood bags, or cranberry juice and vodka mixed drinks?
Waxy Q-tips, or marshmallows dipped in chocolate?
Urine samples, or Jello shots?
COVID-19 vaccine, or, yes, more Jello shots?
And of course, what kind of party would it be without a meat and cheese platter? But whose meat are you eating, exactly?
Have you ever made any unsettling Halloween treats? Tell us about them in the comments!
