People have come up with all kinds of creative ways to enforce social distancing and reduce the spread of the coronavirus, and now that many states and countries are beginning to ease up on restrictions, people are finding new ways to go out in public while still keeping their distance.
One popular spot in Germany called Cafe & Konditorei Rothe came up with a silly, but technically effective way to ensure their customers were social distancing while they enjoyed the cafe’s drinks and food: pool noodles! Patrons were seated outside only, with tables spaced about five feet apart, and guests were given hats with pool noodles attached to them, making sure that they could only get so close to each other.
This isn’t the norm for the cafe, and they only did this for the reopening day, but the silly social distancing measure was a huge hit.
As you might expect, not everyone wanted to keep their hats on the whole time, so the measure wasn’t completely effective.
Still, the idea was cute and got the cafe some attention that will hopefully help them make up for the time they spent closed during the height of the pandemic
