Many of us share space with some truly spectacular wildlife, but because so many animals are nocturnal or simply prefer to avoid humans, we don’t get the chance to see many of our furry, feathery, or scaly neighbors.
A woman named Jennifer got to see just how many special friends she had nearby, though, when she set up a camera near her homemade water fountain outside. Jennifer told The Dodo that the fountain started as a bowl of water, but then, she added a solar fountain to keep the water fresh and flowing. The hidden camera she’d set up captured a whole host of wild animals she didn’t even know were living nearby, all of them grateful for the flowing water in the dry climate of Southern California.
The video of Jennifer’s neighborhood watering hole has gone viral, and it’s easy to see why. Every type of animal you could hope to see, from fuzzy mammals to all sorts of birds and even a snake, has come by the fountain for a drink. You never know what might be passing by your own back yard!
