Thanksgiving is a time when people all over the United States get together to eat food and spend time with their families. Obviously, COVID-19 has put a damper on that this year, but eighty shelter dogs still got a delicious treat for the special holiday.
Hillary and Rob Dunn are volunteers at the Stevens Swan Humane Society in upstate New York, and they wanted to do something special for the canine and feline residents of the animal shelter. So they decided to bring Thanksgiving to the pets!
The couple prepared Thanksgiving meals for the approximately eighty dogs who currently live at the shelter. The food consisted of white meat turkey, green beans, and sweet potatoes — a Thanksgiving dinner fit for the dogs!
The pups definitely enjoyed their meals!
Even the kitties got some sweet potatoes as a treat!
These volunteers truly embraced the spirit of giving, and these lucky animals had a lot to be thankful for this year! Make sure you check out the Stevens Swan Humane Society if you have room in your home for another pet.
