Even though we may think that there’s not much of a difference between us and our kids, technology and music are the great truth-tellers when it comes to generational gaps. Just as we may not know all of the music our parents and grandparents fell in love with, many kids and teens have never even heard songs that we grew up on, even though they’re basically classics to us.
Twins Tim and Fred Williams (who make up TwinsthenewTrend on YouTube) have made a name for themselves by sharing videos of them reacting to the first time hearing iconic songs. The Indiana brothers, who are now 21 years old, don’t really listen to a lot of the music many of us older folks would consider to be classics, and if you’ve ever wondered if the songs that shaped your childhood (and adulthood) still hold up among the youth of today, they’re happy to tell you what they think.
Recently, Tim and Fred filmed their reaction to Phil Collins’ unforgettable song “In the Air Tonight,” and the video has spread around the internet like wildfire. Collins’ haunting, but epic and powerful tune has them impressed from the beginning, and when the iconic drum solo comes around, well, we know exactly how they feel.

The twins have a ton of other videos if you want to put your own music taste to the test. They’ve also reacted to Dolly Parton.
And of course, they had to listen to Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”
Don’t you wish you could travel back in time to the first time you heard these legendary songs? We sure do!
